To access the secret cow level in Diablo 4, players must collect three hidden Cow Relics. This guide details where and how to obtain the Bloody Wooden Shard, Intricate Metallic Fragment, and Musty Tome, as well as the best cow farming routes to achieve 666 cow kills.
All Cow Relic Locations in Diablo 4
Cow Relic Drop Location
Bloody Wooden Shard Hawezar or Kehjistan
Intricate Metallic Fragment Dry Steppes
Musty Tome Scosglen or Fractured Peaks
Bloody Wooden Shard Drops in Hawezar
The Bloody Wooden Shard drops when you kill your 666th cow in the Hawezar region. Although it can also drop in Kehjistan, Hawezar is recommended due to its multiple cow spawns south of Zarbinzet.
Intricate Metallic Fragment Drops in Dry Steppes
The Intricate Metallic Fragment is exclusively found in the Dry Steppes. Ensure your 666th cow kill occurs in this region, or you’ll need to start over and kill another 666 cows to have a chance at the relic.
Musty Tome Drops in Scosglen
The Musty Tome drops when your 666th cow kill happens in Scosglen. While it can also drop in Fractured Peaks, Scosglen is preferable due to its numerous cow spawns around Cerrigar.
How to Get All Cow Relics
Kill 666 Cows to Get a Cow Relic
To obtain each Cow Relic, you must kill 666 cows. This process is time-gated, allowing one relic per week. Solo players will need three weeks to gather all relics, totaling 1,998 cow kills.
Ensure the 666th Kill Is in the Correct Region
Your 666th cow kill must occur in the specified region to receive the corresponding relic.
Cow Relics Drop Once Per Week
You can only acquire one cow relic per week. After achieving your first relic, the next can only be obtained after seven days.
Party Up and Drop Relics for a Single Player
To expedite the process, party up and share the task. While the relics are quest items, they can be dropped for another player to collect. This allows one party member to access the hidden level quickly.
Oxen Statue Progress Is Not Shared
When activating the cow relics, one player must activate all three statues to reach the Forlorn Hovel. Activating statues individually in a party does not count towards quest progression.
Best Cow Farming Routes
Farobru Farming Route in Dry Steppes
The quickest farming route is outside Farobru in Dry Steppes. It has a shorter loop time, with a maximum of 11 cow kills per cycle. Note that the first location is a safe zone; use ranged skills from outside the gate to kill the cows.
Cerrigar Outskirts Farming Route in Scosglen
Just outside Cerrigar’s walls, this route offers the most cow spawns, with up to 16 cows per cycle. The barn to the northeast has the highest spawn rate with up to 6 cows, while other locations can spawn up to 3 cows each.
Zarbinzet Farming Route in Hawezar
The Zarbinzet route in Hawezar is the least optimal but useful when cycling through all three zones. Each spawn can have up to 3 cows, with a total of 9 cow kills per cycle.
By following these routes and strategies, players can efficiently gather all three Cow Relics and unlock the secret cow level in Diablo 4 Season 4, then get the new zone, Diablo 4 gold and Diablo IV Items, come on.
